| All three seem to faultier when making decisions about how to handle issues. There decision making process is a very simple one and in today complexed world and growing township this is a big stumbling block that can't be overcome with the trustee's that we now have sitting on the bench. The service workers are doing there best but it looks like we may need a couple more people the problem with this is that the trustee's don't know how to address this situation so they keep this moot. Where as if they would have started the process of the rt.534 & 90 interchange development when they were supposed to years ago we might have had enough cash to rectify this problem. As it stands right now they have not even taken the first step towards further advancement of the most valuable piece of property in Ashtabula county and we should all be happy that it is considered Harpersfield Township so the voters might have to take the first step towards this by considering a couple of things; 1) Are your property values being hurt by lack of development on the interchange(my answer is unequivocally yes our property values are worth one heck of a lot more because of our surroundings). 2) Are the property taxes equal to the value of your property (if you have a mortgage request to see how much you pay per year and then look at the value of your property. Here in Harpersfield if the interchange was even in the planning stage like it should have been years ago when the (jedd) agreement was agreed upon (last century) our taxes compared to property value ratio would be more to our benefit. The key to keeping our rural settings an open living with the space we all like and not a bunch of housing that looks like the city is to turn toward commercial development on the interchange with strong restrictions with Quality Full Service Hotels and facilities, The whole Township and all the residents will benefit financially (don't forget the sign to the lodge goes up at this interchange that a major factor in making this the most valuable piece of property around and the county will advertise the lodge and what exit to get off). I also would say that the three trustee's and zoning inspectors would agree if you ask them and if they didn't they have no vision the trouble is they don't seem to know how to go about it and the time for teaching and experimenting is not on our side (teaching is a lengthy process especially about the art of negotiation and development). We do have very qualified people that are successful business owners right here that should maybe be considered. |
